Chapter Three

The next morning, Ally came out of her room with reddened cheeks. I sat up on the sofa and wished her good morning.

“I feel ridiculous,” she said, avoiding my gaze while she lingered in the hallway. “For last night, I mean.”

I threw off my blanket and met her in the hallway. “Don’t be,” I said. I wanted to tell her how much it meant to me – how it was everything I ever wanted from her – but I couldn’t. I didn’t know if she felt the same way, and I didn’t want to lose her friendship.

“It wasn’t,” she started, but trailed off. Her eyes searched the fibers of her carpet for an explanation to her actions. “It wasn’t what you thought.” Her eyes finally lifted to mine and became two rich, deep pools drawing me in. “It wasn’t because I felt lonely or rejected.”

I met her gaze with silent hopefulness. My heart raced as I waited patiently for her next words.

“It wasn’t the first time I thought of kissing you. I hope that isn’t weird.” She lowered her eyes out of embarrassment, so I brought a finger under her chin and lifted it slowly. I moved my lips in to hers. I felt her eyes on my mouth as I closed the distance between us. Her warm breath slid across my cheek.

Our lips touched. A little softer and more intent this time. I felt my body tremble. Her kiss cradled me and I felt like I was home. I reached for her hand and traced my fingers in her palm, letting her know this was ok.

She pushed a little harder into me and parted her lips. A soft tongue slid between them and explored my mouth. She started at the roof, then lowering onto my tongue. I could feel my panties growing wet as I wondered how far this would go.

She brought her hand up and our palms touched. She pulled her mouth away slowly and began kissing my neck.

Her gentle lips on my skin flipped a switch in me. I fought the desire to tackle her and pin her against the wall behind her. I let her continue slowly, teaching me to appreciate being with a woman.

She nibbled my ear and down the crook in my neck, making her way to my shoulder as she slid the loose collar of my t-shirt down. There were cool spots where her saliva still lingered without the warmth of her mouth. Gently biting, she slid an arm around my back and pulled me closer in.

Her body heat crashed into me and my skin felt electric. Her hand slid up my spine, grazing my lower back. Her fingers danced slowly across my skin and I adored the way she touched me.

I could feel my senses heighten and my fingers interlocked with Ally’s. She raised both of my hands so our palms were touching. I felt her bring my hands to her mouth. I felt her soft lips on my knuckles, kissing slowly.
